Trapped on the mountain were 50,000 Yazidi refugees who’d fled their homes after the Sinjar massacre, an attack by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant that ended in the slaughter of 5,000 villagers. In 2014, OBC imagery was specifically requested because it was the only sensor that could capture the entire area of Mount Sinjar, Iraq, in the timeline required. ![]() OBC imagery flexes its ISR muscles across more than 30 missions per year, but one in particular has a special place in Jackson’s heart. “The image quality and the amount of imagery we can capture in one mission cannot be done in a digital format.” Tinese Jackson, the 9th IS OBC mission manager. “We still process wet film because there is not a digital medium in ISR that can beat it, let alone match it,” said Staff Sgt. Utilizing the Optical Bar Camera, the U-2 has delivered film with high-quality resolution during peacetime and war operations for more than 60 years. To some, the operation could be considered a relic of the Cold War, but to the Airmen of the 9th Intelligence Squadron’s Optical Bar Camera Flight, it is the heart and soul of the Air Force’s high-altitude intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission. The logic that this new world presents is pretty easy to figure out, but as you are doing that at least you are distracted from the usual action movie set-up. A mysteriously innocent, sharp-shooting, sexy action girl suits her well. Seyfried, on the other hand, proves that she can play pretty much anything. I have enjoyed Timberlake's recent foray into the world of movie stars, but I like him more as a comedic straight man than as an action hero. Will pairs up with a daddy's girl vixen, Sylvia (Amanda Seyfried) and they are on the run from the time keepers (Cillian Murphy). From there, we get a Robin Hood action movie. Will is then faced with the possibility of an infinite life time of money. This rich guy is impressed by Will's (Justin Timberlake) honesty and earnest desire to find out how the other side lives. While the poor are in constant need of money, it turns out that the rich don't have the same drives for life. A rich boy finds himself in a poor man's bar where everybody wants a piece of him, so much so that his considerable wealth and time line are in danger. It even starts with some thoughts on philosophy. But I enjoyed this twist on the same old action movie. It's quite possible that they have taken this time is money equation too far. Time zones are classes of wealth and you can't cross over without upsetting the order of the world. The rich can live at age 25 eternally and the poor don't always have a chance to live. Set in a future where everybody ages until 25, then they have one year left to live, except that one year is currency. In the world of "In Time", time is money. ![]()
